What it covers
-
01
Employee portal
Staff sign in to a self-service portal for leave, training and expense claims, instead of emailing HR for every request.

02
Leave application
Employees submit dates, leave type and supporting documents. Managers and HR work from a queue, open the record, and keep the approval trail on the same form.

A single leave record: type, dates, documents and approval state. -
03
Electronic payslip
A payroll advice the employee can look up by period: earnings, deductions and net pay, without reprinting a file.

04
Training
Internal courses are opened with category, venue, dates and hours, then managed from the same intranet.
Opening an internal training course.
The problem
Leave requests, payslips and training records were handled as separate paper or email trails. Approval, enquiry and reporting each required someone to reconstruct what had happened.
How it was built
The three processes were modelled as one internal system with shared employee records. Leave has an approval path and supporting documents. Payslips are issued and queried electronically. Training courses are opened, managed and reported from the same place.
What changed
HR and staff use one intranet for the three processes instead of reconstructing status from inboxes. Approvals, documents and reports sit on the same record.
