What it covers
-
01
Home island
Grade (K1–S6 and university foundation), today’s featured quest, the daily boss, the weekly expedition and review sit on one home. The interface can be 繁, 简 or EN.
Home island: today’s quest, the daily boss, grade and language. -
02
Quest vault and map
Quests are filtered by stage. A learning map and a full-subject catalogue cover kindergarten to university. Each card opens a playable quest or a subject hub.

03
Subject hubs
Each subject has a hub with the next station, first-try evidence and related subjects. Progress uses the latest official attempt, not an estimated score.
Chinese subject hub: next station, route completion and first-try evidence. -
04
Playable quests
A quest is a short run of interactive stations — for example market change and a cha chaan teng word kitchen — with a hint and an explanation. A miss can be retried in the same run.
Market quest: a change question with options and a hint.
Word Kitchen Express: opening of a Chinese reading quest. -
05
Weekly expedition and daily arena
The weekly expedition is a four-station cross-subject route verified against completed quests. The daily arena is an eight-question boss for the learner’s grade, with combo, shield and three one-use skills. A miss does not end the run.
Weekly expedition: a cross-subject route that reopens on Hong Kong dates.
Daily arena: a cross-subject question with combo and one-use skills. -
06
Harbour Blaster
A full-screen shooter over a Victoria Harbour night scene. The player aims at the correct clue; a miss does not end the wave.
Harbour Blaster: a full-screen wave aimed at the correct clue.
The problem
Practice for different stages and subjects lives in worksheets, apps and one-off quizzes. A student who moves from primary Chinese to secondary science starts again in another tool. Wrong answers disappear after the session, so the next practice is guessed.
How it was built
The product is a Next.js and TypeScript app on Cloudflare Workers, with learner progress in D1. Quests are authored against the Hong Kong curriculum — pairing, sorting, scanning, shooting and other modes — not generated at play time. ChatGPT OAuth is used only to sign in. Grade, first-try evidence, spaced review and weekly routes read from the same attempt records.
What changed
A learner can play a market maths quest, a Chinese cha chaan teng quest and a daily boss on the same island. What was attempted, missed and due for review stays on one record. Guests can try the quests; a signed-in account keeps XP, coins, review cards and expedition progress.
